Thanks to the guys who showed up to support the CBC. It was a gorgeous day at Lake McClure and the fishing seemed to be pretty decent.

Tom, Could it had been because it being on a weekday? Maybe this economy and fuel prices are taking it's toll also. I'm not hurting for money nor am I rich but, I am really watching my fuel consumption both in my truck and boat. I didn't make it because of another commitment though.

The couple dozen guys I have talked to seemed to think this, and I am just passing on information and not necessarily the views of mine or Jigs Snakebite Baits.
1. The team CBC was a mistake with to many team circuits now
2. Fridays this year with other Saturday tournament schedules cost to much money with the fuel and economy.
3. Rescheduling made some angler’s unsure of the circuit
4. Next year stay with the CBC Solo, $100 all in plus an option that allows a guy to win gas money back maybe.
5. Lower membership fee to maybe $ 10.00 or charge for new members only
6. Last year seemed to have a lot of hype and gung ho about it all, this year seemed to take a back seat some how about it all.
These are only views of a few guys I have talked to. I am sure there are more comments and views out there about it all. My view is that it is a great concept and idea still, and it will make a great come back next year or finish up great this year!

Ask 10 guys we'll get 100 reasons. This year we did fliers, posters and more promotion than last year.

Teams was a mistake and after the finals we won't do teams again.

The payback is still going to be really good. Especially for $138 event.

As for the changes. I know some people don't like them. Others like them a lot. We won't ever make everyone happy, but the changes were necessary in order to keep the CBC a viable event. Top 10 with sometimes 10 boats won't work. 1 in 4 makes it legitimate and cuts the field down in size so the eventual finalists will make a nice paycheck regardless of how many people sign up for the locals.

As for the Weekday problem - it didn't seem to hurt us last year. So I am not sure I agree with that. I think too many people think they need to pre-fish. The idea is it's your local lake - you shoudn't need that much pre-fishing until maybe the regional (which does have a payback sort of with a check for all finalists) and definitely for the finals. And as both Jigs and BMX found out in the last 10 days - Pre-fishing might be overrated (somewhat). If it were me - I'd fish the local with no pre-fishing, pre-fish 1 day for the regionals and 2 days for the finals, but I can't pre fish it. It's looking better moving forward. With Naci, Clear Lake, the Delta and Don Pedro all having better numbers.

Last years finalists will tell you that as you move forward the events get better. you guys would laugh at the local qualifiers for the US Open golf events. 1 dude and a table and that's for the biggest golf tournament in the world. The locals aren't about a "Show", the "show" is the finals, and although our "show" still needs improvement - the guys who made it all seemed to have a lot of fun and that was only in a OK year #1. If we could get this thing full we have great ideas to improve the "Show", but we can't and won't do that now with the money we can use for making a great payback. Do the numbers for last year - over 100% payback. If you don't support it, no biggie it there will be plenty of events next year to fish in the other circuits, but the CBC is the only circuit that is not out to make money.

A. Confused to what anglers really want
B. Tired long weekend from SF to McClure to Clear Lake and back with hardly any sleep.
