Default Handheld Marine GPS

What are pros and cons of handheld marine GPS vs. a combo unit? I've been waiting for my depthfinder to go bad and order a new combo unit. It's still working and I am thinking about a handheld GPS and keep using the depthfinder I have.

PROS:
You can take it hunting.
Remove it from the boat easily and store in safe place.
Cost.
Take along when fishing in another boat.
Call 911 or coast guard in emergency and alert true location from anywhere.
When your sonar goes out you wont have to send your GPS in with it!

CONS:
Smaller screen and menu text.
Easier to drop overboard.
Batterys, and power cords.

How about recording sonar data ? If your recording to a card the gps location also gets recorded and stored with it .Ya see something you like on your sonar(when your reviewing your recording) -ya have the exact gps coordinates where you actually recorded it with no extra trouble.
