Default Tourney pay out declaration

After the WonBass (which is a good organization) this last wekend I noticed the payouts were pretty small. The rookie payout was like $500, $300, $100 with a $90 entry fee. 17 boats times $90 =$1530. where did the money go?? The Pro side seemed like the same thing going on. like 30 boats and first place was only $1800??? I am not positive on my numbers but you get the point. We entered the red, white and Blue option and I didnt even hear that given out. I think every Tourney Oganization should have the numbers posted. Declare what was taken in and payed out. Not that we don'ty trust anyone, it would jhust leave no doubt. We all know it costs a couple bucks to put on tourneys so we dont expect 100% payback. But just let the anglers know whats going on. Does anybody agree?

I know BMX contests arent bass fishing but when I put on bike contests I pay 100% back to the Pros. Always!!! check this contest video out I put on in San Francisco Last month. If you watch it through you get to see me eats sh!t!!!

Mike - you are on the right page with your post. However, its not just WonBass.
Most tournament orgs don't post all the paybacks and to Gary's defense he didn't announce any of the options. I am sure that option was lumped into the $1800 for first and whatever for second and third etc.

Are the paybacks what they could be? Probably not - but, as the popular saying goes "it is what it is" and we all know it.

I don't think any of us mind that an org makes a profit - and how much they make most of us will never know.

Mike the pay out for the rookies was $300.00 for first and out of the 17 boats 15 paid. aoy and staff dont pay,I agree it would be nice to see 75-80% pay back. I am on the won staff and it is good circut Gary runs a good tourney but as for pay out his hands are tied it comes from the top. IMO you can keep your bi-weekley paper and give us more of our money back

It would be nice if all Orgs. had open books for all anglers to see if they wanted. And as far as the Orgs making money they should, but I want to know what it is!!

Thats a pipe dream though...

I agree....would be nice to see the numbers. I'm sure it would all make cents once its written down. As for staff not having to pay....i'm not sure how that works? Does staff not get paid a per hour rate when working? They work for free tourney entry? I woulden't be able to get up that earlyif i wasent' going fishing either. Just wondering.

Not try to Bash here, And I wasnt in Semi-Pro, And I like WonBass. But after 15 boats pay $90 ($1350) first place only gets $300?? Anybody see anything wrong with that? What were the accurate Pro numbers? anybody?

I was a little curious myself why the payout was so low. When you do the math, it dont add up
