Default Suggestion

Unfortunately for me I don't get out to clear lake but a few times a year. I know the algae/weeds can get pretty bad. I was wondering if there could be a "sticky" or some other type of computer mechanism where there could be frequent postings on the water/algae/water temp, etc. at clear lake. It would be cool if I knew ahead of time if some of the areas were socked in with weeds. Thanks,

Ken

Why not just call one of the local tackle shops?

The water has been in better shape this year than the last couple. Just call Jimmy at Clearlake outdoors....then call Troy and Dave up north. And of course just ask the all knowing Cornhole....he has all the answers.

But I'm only allowed to talk about the north end. Plus I've developed a sore on my ass that will probably keep me off the water for a few months.

I realized I could call one of the tackle stores, but obviously if the lake is in bad shape, they aren't going to tell me the lake is horrible and it doesn't pay to show up and spend money at their store or any other business in lake county. They need to make money just like everyone else, I get it.

I figured there are guys fishing the lake everyday and they could easily keep a running post of the current conditions. I was hoping to not have to make a post each time I wanted information. I thought the post would be beneficial to a lot of people.

It's CLEAR LAKE. Even when conditions are bad it's better than most lakes around . Just fish with an open mind and you will catch them even if the poop moves in .

you can trust Jimmy, Troy, and Dave they operate with a high level of integrity. dont be to afraid of the algae bloom as clear lake is big there is always a viable option that holds that donkey. the local shops will put you on the right path (its that easy) its up to to find and catch the fish.

Hey - Don't forget about Bob Higgins at Limit Out Tackle (707-998-1006) in the Keys. If you want to fish the rattlesnake arm, you launch and you're there.

jimmy at clearlake bait and tackle at the redbud launch is a tournament fisherman. He is a stand up guy that gives you current info and lets you come to your own descision if its worth the trip or not. I know Bob at limit out is the same way also. Jimmy will never steer you wrong and prides himself on update info more than making a sale on a bag of worms.
