Default Anyone have shipping connections?

I need to ship my Optima blue top to Illinois to get it exchanged under warranty and the cheapest shipping rate I can get is like $65. It's AGM non-spillable so it is legal to ship and total package weighs 63lbs. Its all boxed labeled and ready to go. It is a bit too big dimension wise to send thru the USPS flat rate. Anyone have an account or company in the area that could help me out?

Thanks!
Scott

Why can't you get it replaced at an Optima dealer locally? I know it doesn't answer your question, I'm just curious.

I bought them online through Bigtimebattery.com and I called Optima and they said that the company I ordered them from would have to do the warranty exchange. The online company said I have to pay to return the bad battery and they cover shipping on sending the replacement. Although the more I think about it, the more it pisses me off to have to pay for something like shipping on something thats still under warranty when its not my fault

USPS Bulk rate will be your cheapest rate, just may take a little longer, still insurable and all that! Good luck!!

Just go down to your local Fed Ex office and ship it.

That's pretty lame that a local dealer can't take care of it. Maybe that battery's not worth the price tag. Good luck.

Whats lame is the fact you have to go halfway across the county to get a good deal on a battery.............

Except Fedex wants $70+ to ship it and USPS wants $65. Still way more than Id like to spend returning a warranty item hence this post.

If the battery wasn't $230 to buy a new one then I wouldn't bother but even if I end up paying $70 its still better than paying outright for a new one or a new Deka or other brand of AGM. It may not be worth the price tag and I will chalk this up to a lesson learned for future purchases, but between their already low price, free shipping and no tax it was way cheaper than buying locally and I hadn't thought about what it would potentially cost to return it if I had to. Oh well...

Is the warranty contingent upon them receiving the battery and they determine whether replacement is covered after inspection/testing, or have you been told the exchange has already been approved?
