If you need to fill the field are you going to use Observers? Is there a list?

Thirty boats right now but a number of guys have said they were going to sign-up at the lake with a non-boater. Yes we will balance the field with fishing observers as non-boaters I have only one guy on that list right now. If you would like to fish and do not have the $$$
give me a call. Larry 916 410-0749

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE AN OBSERVER , FISH, AND NOT BE TAKING A FISH AWAY FROM THE PRO, OR CAN THE PRO KEEP YOUR FISH IF HE WISHES TO DO SO ??? HOW DOES THIS WORK ??

They used a few observers during the AC pro am two weeks ago. The fish they catch contributes to the overall catch of the pro as it would if it was a paying co-angler. I still don't like this very much. I feel if I am matched with a paying co-angler, I should only draw other paying co-anglers. Not that the observers arn't sticks as most of them are and some are even locals who know the lake inside and out but the paying co-angler has something to gain and something to loose at the same time where as the observer is along for the ride and a day of fishing.

Just my opinion,

An observer is really not an observer at all. He can fish and help the pro add to his weight but he is not in the money. The payback on the non-boater side will be based only on paid contestants. The worst part pf the pro-am concept is that it takes an equal number of Boaters and non-boaters to make it work. A person out in the boat to strictly observe is hard to find. The only other possibility is to send the Boater out alone and that is a safety and fairness issue.

hey viv I hope that we don't need to use obsevers. But if we do I would highly suggest that you make sure that they get paired with pros that signed up alone. As the world boat outlet guy said it would seem unfair for guys that took the time to find sign up partners to draw a guy not in the tournament. I would want a guy that wants to get the best weight in the boat and not the most fish. I think a guy with a stake in it would listen to you, not waste any time, and be alot quicker with the net. A pro that signs up alone cannot argue with getting an obsever but a pro with a sign up partner can. I figured I would give you this perspective Larry so you could maybe fix a potential problem down the road.
