Why is everyone thinking shallow water with light weight jigs and fine wire hooks?

If you are in completely open water, these combo`s might be fine.

My way of thinking is heavy wire Gamakatsu Hook and heavy or light weight jigs, depending on how fast I want my jig to fall.

In this hot weather, I want a fast falling jig with a big chunk of plastic.
either a big beaver or a huge double tail grub.

Anytime I am fishing shallow, I want to be in the heaviest matted cover, shaded trees or under boatdocks.
