Default FISH FINDERS

On a shallow lake like Clearlake, do fish finders really work, or are they just good for reading depth ?

I liked my Bottom Line Side Finder. It would spot fish on the bank, but it was to undependable. I'll let you know when I get my 400C. I have only used them as depth finders but I never fully got into them. Its a 2010 project.

I have Humminbirds with side imaging and it works on ClearLake but I fish it so much I am learning where stuff is without using it. But it does help. And on a deeper lake you are not familiar with... and finding baitballs
