Default Toyota Tundra- towing power

I know this has been discussed before but I can't find old threads. Looking at buying a 05 Tundra crew cab with the v8 4.7, anybody towing with a Tundra? I have a 20ft bass boat. thanks in advance for responses.

I have an 2005 and it pulls steep grades with ease pulling my 19 foot Skeeter also pulled a friends Ranger up to Colombia River and back the trucks are awesome.I think the braking system was beefed up in 2006 or so but it stops good too make sure you get at least the basic factory tow package and the k&m air filter is worth the bucks too. Take a look at Chevy Silverados a fine truck as well and beat Toyota in fuel economy.

I have a 2006 Tundra and I get 18MPG while not towing. It pulls my Ranger 520 with no problem. If I didn't have trailer brakes I would worry a little though. Great truck over all.

I am all about buying American, Toyota Tundras all though they are awned by a Japanese company they are made here in the US. They are great and you should have no problem with it pulling your rig.

I have a 07 with 5.7 plus 4x4... amazing trucks...
More power than you can imagine. Press the gas pedal and it flat out goes, and thats with a boat on the back too.

I perfer Toyotas Trucks over American Ones. Just due in part to longevity. American Trucks just don't hold up from what I have seen over the years. Sure you can find go financing on some of the american brands, but these toyotas are made here in america and California at that.

If you can get one, do it. And Enjoy your purchase If it goes through. I have for sure..

Just my .02

Agreed. I have an 06 and my buddy has an 08. His is a 5.7 and it is a different animal. His truck does everything better than mine.

Nice Bread Box!!!!!!!

I have the 07 and have no problems at all towing anywhere with that truck. If you are looking for your best deal on a Toyota drop me a line and I can hook you up as well. Toyota is the only car company rewarding you for towing with their trucks if you bass fish, check out Toyota Bonus Bucks as well you will be impressed.
