Water ejector clogged???

Fishing last nite got some sediment or something in my water intake the ejector is clogging and over heating my engine. Kept putting my finger over and got to pee a little. What can I do to unclog it? If I hook a hose up and flush it will it unclog? What do I do. Saw oshin last nite said his yammy had to be looked at and a guy cleaned the screen. Is the pro xs the same way. At the lake wanna fish tommorw what can I do to remedy the problem?

Not sure on your guys's newer engines, but my Evinrude was plugged just the other day. has nothing to do with water temp, the little pee hole is only for operator to see if water pump is working, so I watch my water pressure guage to see if engine is getting water ok. I just used toothpick to unclog the little pee hole tube. Have done the same with my Merc 225, and Yamaha 150 proV back in the past.

i know its probably a little different between my 15 h.p. motor and your bigger motor, but heres what i do. just pull the hose off the fitting where the water exits your motor (pee hole) and run some water though your motor. typically with my 15 hp its clogged right at the fitting, since there is a size reduction between the hose and pee hole. hope this helps. and by the way, you got to pull pretty freakin hard to get that hose off, but it will just slip back on the fitting and the fitting will clamp its self back around the hose. good luck.

try blowing out the hole with an aircompressor. backwards. from engine down.

BMX nailed it. Last month same thing happened to me. Put in at Braitos idled out toward mouth and had no pee stream so put her back on the trailer and Ryan from White's Marine let me use a compressor. Put the nozzle on the outlet hole and a couple of blasts did the trick. Worked great.

Fixed it. Hooked it up to the hose (the pro xs comes with a nozzle attachment) and I think we picked all the rocks outta ejector I think. Do not try to go under the bridge in the keys by the way.

Weed eater line goes up the pee hole well (god that sounds like some form of torture..LOL) Sometimes mud dobbers like to plug the hole...The weed eater line can be stowed easy on the boat too...
