Default Tires ?

It is time to put new shoes on the Tundra.. any recommendations? Alot of highway miles but still have to pull the boat out of some tricky ramps...Also where to get said tires? 275/70R18
Thanks in advance. Joe Duran

All I can say is I have put 2 sets of BFGoodrich tires on my truck and I LOVE them. I commute over 100 miles a day, a lot of backroads as well as freeway driving and I even go offroad with them. The all terrain baja champs is what I have and I get a lot of miles out of them.

Hey Joe, I recomend visting tire rack.com to get some ideas and reviews on differnt brands. Unfortunitly there arnt a whole lot of options in your size, so do a little reseacrh first. A couple recamendations I would have are the Nitto Terra Grappler-and General Grabber Red Label (if fitment available) or Wrangler Silent Armor. Caution not to be fooled on the prices that Tire Rack will quote, because that price does not include shipping or installation. Plus if you ever have a problem there is no one to yell at!

After you find a couple tires you like that will fit you, give me a call at 916-371-1057. I manage a Goodyear in West Sacramento and I can give you prices or atleast get you to anthoner shop that also takes care of bass fisherman. Good Luck.

The Nitto's won't last long, mine were done with less than 30k on them. BFGs cost more up front but will pay you back with their increased mileage. .02

I have been using BFG tires on my trucks for 20 years. All Terrain's on my work trucks and mud terrain's on the off road rig.

Check out Les Schawb tires, I cant say enough about thier service. They offer free tire rotation which will extend the life of your tires tremendously. I use them for servicing my work fleet as well as personal use. Give them a shout they run deals from time to time, however if their upfront cost is a little more it will pay for itself when you use the free rotation.

Every time I change my oil I rotate my tires, take it in during lunch - go eat lunch come back done. They have also stayed open late or opened early to get my boat trailer back on the road. Excellent service.

Went to Americas Tire and got 4 new General Grabbers for my Tundra for $660 out the door. I think the warranty is for 60,000. They have always had great service for me too.

Firestone Destination A/T's....Check out the reviews on tirerack.com...They have the latest UNI-T carbon construction. They are quiet, have great traction, and are long lasting. Cheaper than BFG's with better reviews. I am in the automotive biz and my buddy owns a tire shop. He puts them on his trucks. He can obviously put on anything he wants. I had Nitto Terra Grapplers before these and I loved the look of the tires just didn't last as others have said. Don't forget to get a good alignment what ever you choose.
