Default Mark Mendez caught breaking rule at his own tourney........???

SUPPOSEDLY.....
At last weekend Delta AC tournry, Mark Mendez (owner of Anglers choice, Bass West, Bass depot ect....) and co-angler, weighed in 5 fish with a 6th fish still in their livewell. The rule says 5 fish in the livewell only.
It wasnt til another angler saw and called them out did they DQ themselves. He is saying he DQ'd himself before he was called out. But conflicting reports say different. what's up? whether he did or not .....
....only they know

Well I have to agree with Dobyns on this one, There is nothing wrong with two guys in the boat, having 6 fish in the livewell, as long as you only weigh in 5 of them. Badgepackers still has a 6 fish limit weigh in if you are a team, and 5 fish if you are fishing alone & 5 in the boat. Tossing a fish, and I have seen a lot of guys do it away from a school of fish, sure does the fish no good. I believe Mark said he did it and did DQ himself. Why question him or his honesty. I doubt very much that a person of his stature would cheat or try to on purpose, he has to much to loose. Think about it. This was a big

Hold on BMX....I am not disagreeing with anything you are saying, but haveing a sixth fish left in a livewell is no reason to brand someone a cheater. That is a little harsh and not really called for. He handled very badly with out a doubt and that should be the only issue here.So rip away in that direction if you need to. Just my two cents brother.

Just telling the story. Don't kill the messenger .....
but ........
When you weigh in 5 when you have 6 is cheating. The rule was broke (AC rule 16. culling fish) But it's in question whether he tried to get away with it. I guess when he weighed in, he or nobody stated it was a DQ'd bag because of the 6th fish still in the boat. They then went about it to see if they could get away with it. But then they got called on it. That's the question in question.

Only thing that gets in the way of that are the Anglers Choice rules...

16) CULLING FISH: It is the responsibility of each Pro/Am to keep no more than a maximum of five (5) fish in a live well. If more than five fish are present in the live well during the event you will be subject to disqualification. No culling is allowed in the host marina. No culling of dead fish is allowed.
