I like the fact that everybody is afraid to answer your question. As a kid in the 60's and 70's I grew up eating alot of bass from Casitas, Cachuma, Piru, and San Antonio - that's just the way it was back then. I have lots of pics of nice limits of bass with a broomstick shoved through the gills for the pic. There were no live release boats at local tourneys and it wasn't an issue to eat your catch. I still love to eat bass once in a while - any gut hooked fish will probably die so why waste them - I keep them and eat them. I probably eat 10 - 15 a year.
