Due to high winds the WON BASS SoCal region teams had to wait over three hours in anticipation of Castaic Lake allowing the anxious team tournament anglers to go fishing. At 9:45 AM there were only seven teams left and they were ecstatic with the wonderful news that they would be able to go out fishing on Castaic Lake and compete in the final event of the 2014 season. With no shortage of enthusiasm the white-hot team of Mike Reese and Mark Judevine went to work with a split shot plastic worm and put together a 16.67 pound bag of bass topped by the day's largest fish of 5.26 pounds and collected an incredible $1,800.00 in cash with only seven surviving teams to competing against. Not to be outdone the devoted team of Billy and Bobby Nelson were dead set on winning their Angler of the Year title and capturing their piece of the prize. Billy and Bobby finished in second place with a 13 pound limit and also secured the 2014 WON BASS SoCal region Anger of the Year title winning over $1,400.00 in cash and prizes for finishing in second place in a tournament with only seven teams. Billy and Bobby explained to the anglers how they had no other idea how to fish in such fierce winds other than to pick up a spinnerbait and go to work and it paid huge dividends and topped off their incredible season on the 2014 WON BASS team tournament trail. This was the final event of the 2014 season for the WON BASS SoCal Region teams. Our next event will be in January 2015. The 2015 WON BASS SoCal region team tournament schedule will feature six tournaments all at Castaic Lake. There will be one tournament per month and the "all in" entry fee will be $175. The all cash "Big Bass" prize is included in your entry fee. There will be no options available and no membership fee. Just one flat fee of $175 to each team that fishes the 2015 season.
