Doublewide you are right...its not like it used to be. and the fact that trout won't be the main dish anymore will definitely change the way the bigger bites will come. STILL to this day, even though Brian is whooping us all...the weights are DRASTICALLY down. The day of the reaper and jig is back to Casitas. I just wonder how long before another 14lbs plus is weighed in legitimately. I just wonder. Sure there have been two 13's this year but I really wonder.

As long as they don't blue stone the lake this lake is going to go off.. When they kill the grass It puts all the forage out in the open and the bass don't have to be opertunistic... It also makes it harder for the natural forage to survive at a high rate which means less food.

But personaly I can care less about 14 lbers.. I don't try to fish all day for one giant.. I have caught more limits over 20 lbs this winter then in a long time and that's what I like. Alot of bites and a sold weight = a good pattern.
And what's wrong with the way people look at fish now days.. A 4-5 lb fish is a **** good fish and I see and hear alot of people not give them respect.. That trout bait has done ruined the bass fisherman of this era.. Cocky no skilled fools is what they are ... I have been told that anyone can catch a fish..but a skilled angler can constantly find them in any condition..
Step yo game up.

you are right...step up the game is right, but a 15 boat draw aint much a reason to step it up!

Either way... regardless of the big baits, YES THEY HAVE hurt a lot of the way things are now days, the thought of a teener on every cast aint there.

Either way, over the past few years my biggest fish have been on cranks, buzzbaits and shaking big worms. But even now, those big ones on those baits aren't there.

I personally want to catch the biggest bass period...since the mid 1990's I have always been after the giant bass. I don't have the money and luxury to fish professionally, so I will want to do what I've taught myself to do...catch big ones. Cranks, worms, jigs, swimmers, whatever it takes. But since the summer of 2006 the limits have decended drastically.

at the rate that the wonderful CA tree huggers are going there won't be trout for any lake other than from private hatcheries. It won't be a single lake issue but ALL lakes!

NOT STRESSED ABOUT THE TROUT PLANTS. IM STRESSED ABOUT THE $50 BIKE CABLE I HAD TO BUY THAT HAS A VENTURA ADDRESS ON IT BECAUSE THE PRIATE LAKE IM A MEMBER OF IN MY TOWN DECIDED TO JOIN THE SAME PARTY AS CASITAS. NOT TO MENTION THE 15 DAY QUARANTINE. NO MORE BASS BOAT, NOW I HAVE TO FISH OUT OF A 12' ALUMINUM BOAT THAT CAN ONLY GO ON THAT BODY OF WATER. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CLEAN AND DRY POLICY, I THINK THE RANGERS AND INSPECTORS DID A GOOD JOB ESPECIALLY AT CASITAS. IT WAS ACTUALLY GOOD TO SEE THOSE PEOPLE WORKING, IT MAKES YOU FEEL A LITTLE BIT BETTER ABOUT THE TAXES WE PAY. AS FAR AS THE TROUT, IF SOME IDIOT JUST OUT OF LAW SCHOOL WHOS NEVER SEEN THE OUTSIDE OF A BIG CITY WHO WANTS TO PROVE HOW BIG HIS EGO IS CAN RUIN IT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE STATE IS PRETTY SAD. THE FUTURE COULD BE PRETTY DARK
