Very Strange
 

So I spent Saturday fishing Casitas...didn't fish the derby and got out at about 8:00am. Saw HUNDREDS of fish in the shallows between beds and cruising. I swear out of the entire day I only saw 1 bass that was upward of 8lbs. Crazy I mean the size of fish is gone! its surprising!

Anyone else seeing this out there? I mean sure the numbers are there but fish bigger than 4lbs is non existent now days! CRY1

I'm starting to think you are just trying to psych people out about going to Casitas.

I've caught more fish over 4lbs in the last 3 years than I would care to count. Some may have died & some went home with the folks that caught them, but I think most of them are just hiding from you.

I agree with Eric . When was the last day or night derbi that had 35 to to 40 lbs. I remember some nights it took almost 50 . I remember comming in with 34 lbs with four fish and placeing third ! I believe its a cycle and with the trout plants all but gone and more and more shad each year the Casitas hay days are over .

Thanks Ron...it surprises me that more people don't agree with this. it baffles me that people can't see how DIFFERENT the lake is and the giants aren't lurking like before. yes its in a down cycle...I won't disagree with that, but I never see the fish of the 80's to the mid 90's showing up again. unsure3

I think that the fish are all the same.. Though I have caught a few fish that looked super skinny but I consider those the stupid trout eaters that spent all winter in the shallows hoping for a trout plant. Kinda like all the guys that are getting there ass kicked by Brian Evens right now.... I guess we need to learn how to fish again huh guys.. It's not like fishing for calicos over a chummed up kelp patty any more... ROFLMAO
