Just completed the second Hook tournament had 60 boats on a rainy day. All but 9 boats weighed fish, big fish was 8.99 weighed by Pete Deforsia he finished in the top 6 with a total weight of 16plus lbs. First place honors went to Russ and Steve Probst with 23.11lbs.
The fish have realized it is fall and are moving into their winter pattern. The water is still very clear and the temp on tournament day was around 62 degrees. We had an overcast with rain in the afternoon but warm temps and little wind.
First place team caught their fish on a speed trap in Delta Craw color and senkos color 330. The big fish was caught on the same speed trap.
Most fish were caught on reaction baits such as the speed trap, chatter bait in bluegill and green pumpkin colors and Senkos.
Patterns were parralelling rock walls with weed lines on a low out going and low in coming tide. Another pattern was tully points with some current on them if there was heavy current fish the eddies.
For those of you that like to Striper fish it's off the hook. Top Water fishing with Black Dog lunker punkers in white and okie shad are working the best.
Tie on a swim bait to back up the top water bite. Big Hammers, Fish Traps and the Sebile magic swimmer have been doing very well.
Areas to fish are Franks Track, Mildred and they are starting to move into Disco Bay.
