Started the morning with winds very light but expected to peak at 20mph by afternoon. Air temperature at dawn at 39 degrees and the third straight day of night temps dipping into the mid thirties. Started on the North East side throwing crankbaits looking for a reaction bite and had two decent spots in the 2+ lb range before the sun peaked over the mountain top. Folsom lake looks beautiful this time of year especially when the lake is almost full(did I say that) yes I did it now sits at 440 feet only 20 feet from full capicity. The water temps dropped back down into the low 50's, water temps stayed at or near 52 degrees most of the morning. We ran North and threw swimbaits in 20 feet of water and my buddy hooks into a nice 4lb spot, that was all the action on the swimbait. The next couple of hours were very slow for us so we started running but only on the North side of the lake. My last cast I caught another 2+ lb fish on a shakey head in 40 feet of water throwing into the rocks around 5-10 feet where the line felt heavier then the weight so I set the hook. I believe that the afternoons probably has a better bite due to the water warming. We were off the water at noon because I had an appointment, winds started to pick up and the air temp was now close to 60 degrees. I hope this helps..
