Sonoma - 3/1
Fair day on Sonoma on Monday from 6:45 to about 4:00 when it started raining hard. Water temp in the mid 50's. Water stained in the main body to slightly muddy in the creeks. Still alot of debris in the water, particularly in the main body, so be careful. The choppier the water the harder they are to see. First went up Warm Springs and caught a nice crappie (about the size of a dinner plate which is where it should have ended up) on an Aurora Blue LV 500. Worked some banks on the main body with Blue/Black jigs and a speed trap for nada. Finally caught three (between my buddy and I) nice (2-3 lbs.) largemouths in Cherry Creek on white/chartreuse spinner baits before the rain came. Spoke with a couple guys at the dock who got limits just outside Cherry dropshotting purple worms. All in all not a bad day for Sonoma. Will try again this Monday. Had mostly been going to Berryessa but easier drive from Santa Rosa to Sonoma. At least we don't get the asphalt massage we get driving 128. Will probably head back to Berry in a couple of weeks, then Clearlake by April.
I started out with nothing and I still got most of it left. (Seasick Steve)
