Took the day off from work and the wife and I headed to Lake Sonoma. Launched right at 1:30 and started fishing after about a 30 minute run and idle up into Cherry Creek. Fishing was slow, I was throwing an SKT trout swimbait and the wife was drop shotting. Finally caught a keeper using my favorite bait and the wife lost a small keeper a few minutes later on the purple worm. About an hour later I caught this toad, again using my favorite bait (not the jig!):
Wife did a fantastic job with the net as the big, thick female was barely hooked.....
On the way back we ran out of gas about a mile from the ramp
used the trolling motor to get us safely back to the ramp.
All in all an awesome day.
