Ive been out a few times in the last couple weeks. Ive only seen one boil that lasted for about 30 seconds at first light one morning and other than a couple followers, thats all the striper action Ive seen. Ive been targeting blacks though and actually those too have been fairly hard to find. Ive caught fish each morning ive been out on a CatchemCaro manny minnow, most 2 lbers but had a nice heavy 4 eat it a week ago and a good smallmouth around 3 lbs 2 weeks back. Flippin the bushes and trees has worked for some fish, stuck a couple on frogs and missed a big one, drop shot a clear glittery worm for dinky smallies(that bite seems to be there all day), small cranks, reg size spook. Theres a TON of small threadfin shad that are hanging tight in the cover. As the water drops out, they grow bigger and they run out of those places to hide the striper fishing will really turn on. The bass are there, Ive seen more than a few big fish, just cant figure out how to get'em to go.....yet.
