Thought I would check in with you guys its been a little while. I am excited and greatly privledged to film tommorrow with a highly regarded fishing enthusiast Jarret Edwards of Jarrett Edwards outdoors. We will be filming on Trinity Lake in Weaverville, CA. I am super pumped for tommorrow to begin.
I have prefished with a good friend of mine Chad LeBlanc for the past two days, and let me tell you we have had a ball. Yesterday I caught my biggest Spook bass of my life. The fish was a beautiful Northern that weighed 8.41. I caught it over 11 feet of water on a main body point and man was it ever a rush. We proceeded through the day catching a few beautiful smallmouth in the 2-3lb range. We also preceeded to catch a few more northerns. The spook bite was my go to pattern this day.
Today I fished from sun-up to 5 p.m. The bite was a little different today and I believe it was caused by a little cooler morning. It was cold.
We went through the day catching a lot of fish but not the quality as it was the day before. We really had to slow down a bit and finesse em a little more than hoped. It was still a very productive day. We really got on em good dropshotting a jackall worm today.
I have to tell you guys, these past days have been a little weird for me, but still very fun. I have always been told that Trinity is a "Smallmouth" lake and have done really well on the smallmouths, but the past two days I can honestly say I have caught more Northerns than smallmouths. I have to go get my gear ready, and grab some dinner but I will post tommorrow night and report how our day went. Tight lines
