SACRAMENTO, Ca. – Most every competitive bass angler has dreams of someday taking their game to the next level. Winning a club event, a specialty event, or perhaps fishing well enough to capture a local/regional TOC or Angler of the Year crown produces in even the most reserved of anglers, hopes that someday they can compete as professionals on one of bass fishing’s most prestigious stages.
But ask any bass professional that has dared to step out of the safe and secure world of local or regional team competition, to bravely venture into the arduous world of professional competition, and each will tell you that it takes more than just a dream to make things happen.
And one of the goals that the Thunder Valley Outdoors/Future Pro Tour Tournament Trails has set out to accomplish from it’s very inception, is to provide a place where beginning to intermediate level anglers can build upon their bass fishing skills, while at the same time receiving opportunities to experience - if they desire, all aspects of the bass fishing game.
In 2010, the FPT commissioned several promotional teams that received the opportunity to represent many of its premier sponsors, providing for them a unique opportunity to practice the skills critical to those that ever hope to be successful at the “next level”, as promotional skills – to most sponsors, can often times be even more important than an anglers fishing prowess.
And for the 2011 FPT season, promotional team opportunities have never been greater, as we have expanded our promotional teams roster to give even more amateur level anglers that desire to expand their business profiles, the opportunity to do so.
Team Johnson Outdoors
As they captured the 2010 Future Pro Tour Classic crown in dominating fashion, Todd Ondracek
and Michael Baggett
will be representing Johnson Outdoors and their two most popular brands, Humminbird and Minn Kota. Todd and Mike, who used both products to secure their victory, are extremely anxious to begin sharing with their fellow anglers, the advantages of using Humminbird’s exclusive side-imaging technology, as well as touting the virtues of the unparallel power and durability of Minn Kota’s Forte trolling motor. “Were it not for the side-imaging technology provided by our Hummingbird unit, we would have never won the 2010 FPT Classic”, noted Todd, who is a seasoned Airbus captain for United Air Lines. The Humminbird unit put us on fish and the Minn Kota trolling motor helped keep us on fish”, commented partner Michael Baggett.
Travis Huckaby and Benny Broom
, of the central valley region, will proudly represent NAVIONICS Corp for 2011, along with the team of Dale Burkett, and Kevin Smith
of the northern region. This group of tenacious anglers earned their spots on NAVIONICS promotion team by being crowned 2010 NAVIONICS Cup champions, a title that can only be earned via participation in the NAVIONICS Cup program offered exclusively to FPT anglers. Each of these promotional teams will receive paid entries for the 2011 season, NAVIONICS Platinum chips, custom promotional jerseys, decal wrapped boats, and $500 fuel cards to help offset some of the season’s expenses.
