Countdown to Stren Oroville
'Twas the night before Oroville
Lake Oroville's water level is still rising about a foot a day. This is taking the bigger spotted bass and making them suspend over deeper water. Catching them is pretty difficult.
There are bed fish but, the rising water level is making them pretty tough to see. What you see today you might not be able to see tomorrow.
I still think its going to only take about 10 pounds a day to make the cut. I am not sure I can get that,
it really seems pretty tough out there. It's not hard to catch fish, you can catch a ton of pound and a half fish but, its really hard to get above 9 pounds for five fish.
Chris Jones - FLW reported he went back to being a teacher. He was an award winning teacher (2 time teacher of the year). FLW sure made it sound like it was Chris' decision to go back to teaching. I'd like to wish him good luck and happiness in his new endeavors.
I drew boat #68 which bums me out a little because I found a five pounder on a bed that may not be there when I get out.
There are only 109 boats which, from reports, is the worst Stren turn out they have ever had. The good news is they did mention that FLW will be out west again next year for both the National Guard and the Stren Series. They guaranteed it.
Off to bed - I've got some work to do in the morning!
