Default Delta Day 1

What's Up Cal Bassin

I have never seen the Delta fish this tough. Why? To be honest I am not sure - but, I think its mostly because the fish just finished spawning. Add to that, the powers that be have spread grass killing pellets all over many of the best areas. Finally, the wind has everything pretty muddy. If it would just stop blowing the top water bite would be great!

Tournament Pre-Fishing went super bad for me. I caught one fish over 4 pounds and it was a 6 pounder on a frog. Other than that, I caught a bunch of rats.

I caught a bunch of 2 and 3 lbers today mostly on top water but some on senkos. I did get one fish around 5 lbs at the end of the day to put me just over 14 pounds for the day.

I need a big bite!! With a big bite I think I still have a shot at a top 10 but, my main goal is the angler of the year award. In order for that to happen, I'll need to make sure to stay ahead of the guys that are on my heals coming into this event. I think I can catch 2 and 3 lbers pretty easily, but I need that big bite!

Off to grab some food, retie my rods and then try and get some sleep before tomorrow. Two years straight I have been runner up for AOY in the Stren Series and I am not sure I can handle another second, so tomorrow is the day I can change that. Wish me luck.

Great job Cody -- Forget your pre-fish, the only days that matter are the tournament days. The rest doesn't matter!!

You have one more tournament day to win it - go get'r done!

Patent That!  - Yeah, they're that good!
