The Buzzzz: FLW N.G. Columbia River
The time is drawing near where the best of the best of western anglers will decend upon the mighty Columbia. Folkestad and me got to pre-fish for 4 day's prior to the cut-off. The bite was excellent, it did not seem to matter what we thru at the bronzebacks. We had a good reaction bite on blades and traps. make sure you dial in the size, color, and cadence of the retrieve,it did make a difference. As far as plastics went they bite everything we offered them. Carolina rig,drop-shot, darter head. the tube was very productive as well as the jig and Hula grubs. Stick with the browns and greens and experiment with the size and wieght of the offering.Current will dictate the wieght. There was a tournement a couple of day's before we arrived and it took 16 pounds to win. All 5 fish were large mouths.I wish you all good luck and tight lines. Any questions drop me an e-mail espeacially you co-anglers.
P.S. Jay Pennington owner of Canyon Plastics asked me to put the rumor to rest about them going out of bussiness. NOT TRUE. Bussiness is slow but it is for all manufactures. As a matter of fact it was his tubes that kicked butt. Drop Jay an e-mail at Canyon Plastics.com so he can put you on his e-mail list.
