The BUZZZ: Pre-Fish day 3&4 FLW N.G. Columbia River
The wind was still a nightmare on day 3 producing 6 to 7 footers. As Mike and me arrived at the launch ramp we see everyone coming off the water soaked and disgusted. We drove to the upper pool hoping to find calmner water. We did if you want to call 3 footers calmer. Fishing was poor that day to say the least. We managed 8or 9 fish between the two of us.
Day 4 was a little better because the wind layed down by mid afternoon and fishing was pleasant. Mike managed 6 keepers and 2 shorts while I caught 3 keepers and 2 shorts.
It is all I can do to maintain my confidence. I just have to remind myself that the wind prevented us from fishing the productive water that we know and did so well before the cut-off. We basically fished unknown water these past 2 day's trying to dodge the wind.
I'll most likely stick with my Canyon Plastic tube, carolina rig and a little reaction unless my pro got something up his sleeve and dialed in and slay'in the smallies.
