The Buzzz-Falcon Lake Day 1-2-3
Sorry about the delay on The Buzzz - but, the hotel we're staying at in Zapata doesn't have wireless.
We started fishing Wednesday with temperatures soaring to 113 degrees. We managed to boat 12 fish. It was Mike Folkestad's first time on the lake. That evening Mike studied the map, and figured where the fish would be this time of year. We also made phone calls to some locals and consensus was creek channels, main lake points, and 5 to 25 ft. of water.
It didn't take Folkestad too long to zone in on a couple of hot spots. We ended up boating 27 bass which included a 7-1/2 pounder, a 6-1/2 pounder, and a 5 pounder.
Friday, we had a cool spell - temperature was 104 degrees and it was a day for big bass. Mike boated a 7-1/2 pounder and I hooked 1 over 5 pounds.
Today was just Mike and I. Tami stayed to take care of some business.
The last 3 days the fish have been caught on a combination of baits. The bigs came on Canyon Plastics Fighting Craw - color 00B and MM3, the Maverick 8" worm - the color is Ed's Candy Craw.
Stay tuned for more. We have 9 more days of fishing the #1 lake in the country.
