Can you talk about how bass relate to grass?
Thanks for the question Joel. There are different types of grass across the country, some of which are hydrilla, pondweed, milfoil, pepper, hyacinth, eel grass, and duckweed.
Bass love hydrilla it stems can get to lengths of 30' and when it reaches the surface it umbrellas out, thus forming tunnels and pathways under the umbrella. This allows the bass and all species of fish to roam around underneath the mat, protected by the shade. It forms a security blanket. You can catch bass on the outside edges or pitching into the holes. Frogs and buzz baits can be used over the top of the hydrilla also.
The bass love to get underneath water hyacinth for shade and protection also. Hyacinth holds a great food supply, same as hydrilla.
Below is a link of the different types of grass and photos of each.
