In line swimbaits
I have been watching and reading a lot about inline swimbaits that slide up the line instead of throwing the hook. What swimbaits are these and how do they work? I assume the are trebles and not top hook, do you have any info on these?
Hi Mike, good questions.
Osprey is an inline swimbait. The line goes in the nose and through the body. You tie a treble hook on the line and hook it in the belly. (see the picture below). The Osprey with the treble hook hooked into the bottom of the bait is more for open water.
Mission Fish and Swim Doctor are in line swimbaits and hooked weedless with a 5/O single EWG hook. Check the internet and look up these and you can see more pictures on how they are hooked weedless. The in line swimbaits that are hooked weedless, are made for throwing into the tules and retrieving the bait through heavy cover without getting snagged.
I hope this helps.
