Soft bite at Pedro
Mike I read your post on Pedro although I may disagree about spawning areas it seems there are plenty of flats around the lake which brings me to my question. I was on the lake Sat. and managed a pretty decent limit however it seems the fish were acting funny and they were not where I thought they would be and the bite was light most of the time and if one doesn't know the feel you missed the fish. The weather was pleasant water temp in some locations up to 61 in the afternoon, last year at this time I was smoking them on lizards. What do you think is going on everything came on a mojo brush hog/senko real slow no reaction, so needless to say I dont get it. thanx
Sorry about the spawning flats, I haven't been to Pedro for about 25 years. The water was low and I do not remember there being many spawning areas in the lake. The bite that you are experiencing is not unusual. Past history is just a starting point, you need to let the fish tell you what they want. They are constantly changing that's what makes them so interesting. Good job on figuring them out.
It sounds like the fish are not real aggressive, they could be on a post spawn bite and recovering from the stress of the spawn. This is my only guess without being there.
