Default Humminbird shuting off ??

I noticed yesterday going across the lake my bird shut off by itself. What do I look for, problem ? When I get to a spot I turn it on again, it works fine. 798CSI transom mounted transducer.

Thanks in advance

Check to make sure there is no movement in the power cable in the cable collector in the bracket. You can gently spread the pins in opposite directions to increase the contact area in the plug in.

Also and highest odds are wiring. Make sure you have soldered connections and use a blade style fuse holder and connected direct to the battery. See alot of under-powered units that do not get both the necessary voltage and Current to operate.

So, it wouldn't have anything to do with transducer kicking up when boat is on plane ? When I got home, I noticed my transducer was at an angle and not flat with the boat bottom.

Transducer should have nothing to do with power to the unit.

checked everything, all snaps together like it should on the mount on deck. Just can't figure it out. Like a vibration once in awhile shuts off the unit. I just don't know. Does not bother me except when using GPS to track or get back home.

Thanks Doug. I'm going out one more time before I call and see if there is a loose wire somewhere, maybe ground or hot wire ??

Thanks again
