Here's an image of where Down Imaging's very narrow front to rear covereage is able to show this shallow, narrow ditch and 2D sonar's wide coverage cannot.

Mike, thank you for the stats on beam sizes. It helps to know about how big an area you are looking at.

Doug, that is an unbelievable shot, and probably the best example of the benefits. It makes sense that a narrow beam front to back will show more detail in this situation than an oval/round beam putting all of that info at one time (RTS window).
