Interference With MK Maxum TM and Lowrance 332C

I recently purchased an '06 BassCat Pantera that is equipped with a Lowrance 332C at the front of the boat that uses the internal transducer of the MK Maxum trolling motor. Every time I run the TM the screen of the 332C "noises up" and becomes unreadable. As soon as I stop off the TM on/off switch it cleans back up.

Is this interference from the TM? Is there a way to clean it up?

Thanks, Greg

Re: Interference With MK Maxum TM and Lowrance 332C

Since the interference happens only when the trolling motor is in operation, the problem is with the trolling motor, not the Lowrance unit.

This is usually a loose or missing ground wire. There have been instances where an armature is slightly out of round or bent causing a small vibration that doesn't affect the operation of the trolling motor but the electronics pick it up and show it on the screen. A flat spot on the brushes can cause interference too.
