Default Delta Black Bass

The weather sure knows how to mess up a good thing. The second day of the WCB Po Am the fish moved up like there was no tomorrow, then the weather front came through and moved alot of them back.
You will still find bed fish in all areas of the Delta but not in large groups like we have seen in the past. The Delta has started to clean up and get clear. There is a top water bite that goes all day if you just want a few fish throwing a Zara Spook and a Frog. These bites are coming off of rip rap walls with a good green grass line in front of them. There are some good fish that have not been caught in the Marinas, such as St. Francis, Crusier and a few others.
For those of you that are not catching them on drop shot try changing colors and the size of you bait go larger. Drop shotting is producing quantities and some quality. The crank bite has started to happen and it should if you are chasing the post spawning fish, look for these on point with current the old reliable speed trap is doing well. Some of us over look some key areas when I say points with current, it is not always the tullie Island points I am talking about. There are some very good rock points that produce some good fish. The rocks warm up with the sun and can be very productive. And you can't forget the swim bait. The Berkley Hollow bodies and the Top Shelf baits have been doing very very well.
Tides are still running high and the water temp is about 58 degrees in the west Delta and up to 62 in the east delta.
There are some tournaments coming up at the Delta so come on down and join
us.
