Default Delta 08/22/11

They are pumping more water then usual so don't be surprised if your tide book is off.
There is a great morning bite on top water such as buzz baits, Rico's and Zara Spooks. You will get a lot of short strikes, blow ups and fish jumping over your bait. These fish can be caught if your quick. Have a Zoom horny toad or a D&M Top water dog with a 1/16th or 1/8th ounce weight tied on, if they miss your top water bait throw one of the above baits about 2 feet past the blow up and retrieve it back slow and hang on ps let them eat it first.
The bite gets tough after the first hour to hour and a half start punching grass beds close to a lot of current. If you area a good deep water fisherman put on a 1/2 ounce jig and go deep up to 20 feet that's were the toads are.
The bite picks up again in late afternoon. Taylor slough has been doing well and the central Delta. You will get a lot of little fish during the day The bigger fish are coming early morning and late afternoon.
If your want stripers go with Big Hammer swim baits in 4" sexy smelt, pearl, and chart/blue.
While your down here stop at the Hook and say Hi.
