Default Re: lcx 27 linking question

Yes, both of these units can be linked together via a NMEA 2000 network. You will be able to share waypoints and use one external antenna for both units. These units have a three wire power cable. The heaviest cable of the three is the power cable to the unit. The other two are labeled, comm which is a communication cable for marine radios, cut the colored wires coming out of this one close to the shield. The other one is labeled NMEA. Both units have these cables. Only connect ONE of the NMEA cables to a power and ground. DO NOT connect both NMEA cables. This will double power the antenna and will eventually burn the diodes out and it will not work. Although at least one of these needs to be powered and grounded for the antenna to get power through the network.
