Drop Shot Clips

I sell thousands of drop shot sinkers every year, I use the best clip on the market which cost 5 cents per clip. The cheaper clips have a problem with line breakage, my clips have a 1-2% of breakage. So I tell people to use 6 or 8 pound to open them up. I use alot of 4lb test when I'm drop shoting.

texas john There is a few ways but the one your using is a pretty good one. One thing to remember is the lighter the weight the tighter the clip due to the assumed lighter line that will be used!!!

A Question Re: Fixing Drop Shot Clips

Many of my drop shot weight clips are so tight, they break the line when I put the weight on. I've resorted to using some 30# braid to open the clips a little.

Is this the only way of dealing with these tight clips or is there a better way?

Thanks!
