Here is a good way to find out about what people who have purchased both think at B&H Photo

GoPro

Contour

There are reviews on Amazon, but you needn't have bought the product to review it so you need to take them with a grain of salt.

I'd give the edge to GoPro for underwater housing and number of options and picture quality, but to Contour for a cheap ready to go helmet for $19

Here is a link to that.
Here is a YouTube video
That's looks pretty good too. Hadnt seen it before. I need to research the add ons and their prices. I haven't seen it anywhere but my mobile device yet and so far the main difference is I think the GoPro shoots under water while this is just water resistant.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-yMbscAj00&sns=em This video is made by people I've had great buying success with.

One thing I do like about this camera is the quality of audio in a breeze. On any other video camera the slight breeze at the end of this video would be doubly audible. Battery life is 2-2 1/2 hours. Not bad, Same as GoPro.

It won't matter what I buy, because the next day they'll announce something twis as good at half the price.

Thanks for the tip.

Joe W, sent you a PM. Asking what one you would look at in the go pro line up.

I thought there was a screw on lens option. I'll dig deeper to find out

They are awesome. I said it before on here and will say it again, the only drawback for me is the lens. It's a wide angle which isn't a bad thing, but that is the only lens you get, you can't change them. Video quality is second to none. They are small, and you have a bunch of different mount choices. They are just plain awesome. IMO

No, but when I sell my farm in the Midwest in a week or so I'll own one. I own two flips right now and the are awkward. That hat thing would be hard to keep on your head with all that weight forward. I've talkd to a few guys who own them and they are waterproof, multi purpose and very hi def. Compare those videos to these. https://www.calbassin.com/Smf/index.php?topic=14232.0 shot by a guy here, then go to YouTube and type in GoPro. Judging by the camera angles I'd say Anglers Revenge bought a second one or did some fancy editing.

There are in Powell, maybe Mead, Idaho, and most states that far north and further inland.
