US Open - Wish me luck
I made the tip across county from NY to NV so I could fish the US Open at Lake Mead.
It's late August and the weather is HOT, I think it hit 115 today! Except for the heat the weather has been pretty nice for fishing. The wind hadn't been a problem during my prefishing this year but it blew pretty good today.
What's new at Lake Mead? Grass and smallmouths! I think we'll be bringing in mixed bags of largemouth and smallmouth bass.
The fish are pretty scattered around the lake. I'm catching fish from 6" to 40' deep. The afternoon has been best for me but we'll have to see what happens with my Day 1 draw. I have located fish in both directions so I'll let the weather tell me where to go.
I'll check back in with you guys tomorrow.
