I only have the premium, not the platinum card. I am interested in it but not holding too much anticipation as they do not cover California too well. I thought about even waiting for the new Lowrance with the 3D Insight maps. I think it will be like the Navionics. A few lakes (actually very few) will be amazing. The rest will be worthless. I am trying to get a good Navionics hook-up. I have been talking to some execs there. I have some good ideas to add to their systems and would like to straighten out some of their HD priorities. They have lakes mapped that have never allowed a private boat to access. I think they need some West Coast help.

The '09 card shows Don Pedro as a HD lake. These are typically 1 foot contour maps. Pretty amazing stuff. Sometimes too detailed when the map is at regular zoom. It will be kind of black blobs unless you zoom in close. When you do zoom in the detail is amazing. It even shows individual boulders. BTW I checked my card. It shows the whole lake with 20 foot contours. I think mine is an '08.

I have 2007 Premium I think. How is the 09? Does Pedro have all the lake on it now or still just half? And is Melones a lake instead of just a river?

HotMaps Premium west is the chip for the 26. The new '09 is out. You might check the maps list to see if any lakes you fish have changed between 08 and 09. They are listed on the Navionics website. You will be able to find 08 maps on sale. The high def maps are 1 foot contours in many cases. The other lakes not listed in red are standard mapping.
