Cross linked clip on cranks and spoons, tie direct on everything else..

Totally depends on the bait. Even the same bait sometimes runs great tied direct but the next one in the package might need a snap. Generally spooks, vixens, and all walking baits I like to use those oval split rings, they walk a little better.

Actually depends on the lure/lure type..I usually tie to whatever comes on the lure..
