Re: ""ATTENTION""!!!! ""ROOKIE TEAMS""!!!!!

In case you guys missed it it is the same teams killing it in the BBT mother lode that killed it in wrl big valley last year. So what was that about the same five teams again? There are teams who have won boats and cashed fat checks in pro ams/TOC's. Anglers who have made the State team in the federation and been regional AOY tittle winners. I get the finacial reasons100% but everything else is bullchit smoke and mirrors that give some anglers an illusion of a level playing feild. I cant wait til next year when the BBT starts a pro teams curcuit for the five whole teams they wouldnt let fish. Not! I am off to the lake!

Re: ""ATTENTION""!!!! ""ROOKIE TEAMS""!!!!!

just an observation....

look at the winning weights of a pro team tournament, then look at the winning weights of a "rookie league" at the same lake. many times the weights are similar and on occasion, the rookie weight is a lot more.

it's pretty simple, pay more win more but don't think you are fishing at a lower competition level. with all the clicks and buddies out there, the right information is easy to acquire. some people fish there whole career as a "rookie" league angler and finish in the top 5 every time because they can. these guys usually have more sponsors and shared info from true pro's or guides than most guys.

personally, i'll fish anything and everything if they let me, but i really wish it would go back to the boat numbers we had when it was just pro teams.. just saying

long live %100 bass...miss those days.

You guys live in the Promise Land! Until all these leagues have a rating system, where's there to move too? Most all sports have rating systems nationally. Softball (every type), has a "sanctioned" national rating system. The only rating system I've seen was a phone call to a T.D. asking if you could fish with this guy! With a rating system all the leagues would be on the same plane, the money thing being the wrench in the machinery as it always is! But you guys should compete at some point against each with a rating system that tells you who you are and where you are in the sport. Who is the best rookie stick out there? Remember, no rating....rookie!! It's just a word gentleman. Cheapest thing in the world is "talk"!! You're attitudes tell me you know how to walk the w...! GET TOGETHER!! missuse of a word.........GOVERNOR schwartsenegger. Bill Curtis, Californian!!!

3RD 6,000.00
4TH 4,000.00
5TH 2,000.00

400.00 ENTERY FEE X 100 BOATS $40,000.00
400.00 ENTERY FEE X 150 BOATS $60,000.00

Re: ""ATTENTION""!!!! ""ROOKIE TEAMS""!!!!!

it doesnt make you a rookie if u fish bbt or aba or won etc. they dont want guys who have won pro-am championships..flw...and elite guys or guides.the only place to "move up" to is a pro-am or flw everstart.but they dont have teams in those events. make a 200$ all in team traveling tournament series. 5 differnt lakes around the state.must pre pay for all tournys up front.1k to fish a whole series. you could get 50 boats.make that the "pro team" tourny.

So the guys who dont qualify who were in the top ten all year last year in the WRL and are not qualified to fish the BBT, but guys who win in the ABA are because they did not make enough....I think you just put this whole thread to rest. There is more money in the Rookie Leagues right now, most people who want to fish the other circuts are sick of donating to the local pros who are able to fish their home lakes day after day...
Where is the paridy??
Where is the traveling Pro Team tournaments?
Why are more people fishing the "Rookie" Series? Because they want too and qualify. If you dont qualify good for you move on!!!! This is not anything outside the normal for any sporting leagues, some qualify some dont. Get over it!
There are quite a few "pros" or "pro team" guys that feel that same way I do. Some of them have been doing this for 30+ years and now they just "get over it". It's not all that easy to get over. But, for now you're probably right, I should go take some golf lessons or something.
Fishing should never be compared to another sport IMO. How many sports are there where a guy tries to stay a rookie his whole career?
Not sure why you singled me out to tell me that. I know you like rookie team events and you stick up for them every thread and I think that's great. I hope you're able to stay in the rookie loop forever! I wish I could. After 10 years I think your earnings don't count in these rookie leagues, so in about 7 years I think I'll be able to fish them with you.

Re: ""ATTENTION""!!!! ""ROOKIE TEAMS""!!!!!

If I didn't qualify to fish said leagues, I don't think I would be worried about who could. I think I would be concentrating on getting ready for Havasu pro am this weekend or flw havasu in a couple of weeks. Talk about stepping up.... better payouts... not being scared... putting up the cash... fishing against the fish against the best... more bang for your buck...I don't know, just a thought.

Re: ""ATTENTION""!!!! ""ROOKIE TEAMS""!!!!!

Good Luck to the BBT, please make it a true rookie league. No favoritism, and BS loop holes in the rules allowing people to stay and rape others like the other BS rookie leagues have. With this kinda attitude, and approach with specific rules it will help the Pro teams grow..

Just sayin!
