Re: Lowrance help

Backseatk nailed it. My X-17 wouldn't power up the other day and it was the fuse. Hope it's a simple fix for you Don.

Re: Lowrance help

Jeff is right on. However if you establish you have power. Take it out and shake it. If you here the sound of water or water comes flying out well. I really hope for your sake you don't have to deal with Lowrance customer service right now.

Re: Lowrance help

first thing i'd check is the in line fuse.....if ok spray some corrision x in the connection and plug unplug a couple times to see if connections corroaded. then look for bad ground on fuse/ power block.

Re: Lowrance help

If you have the same power connection on the other unit in the boat, take the unit that is not working to that power connection to make sure it is not the unit itself. Jeff has great advise, if the unit works on the other power supply then it is your power supply connections. If by chance the unit does not power up on the other power supply that is known to work then call Lowrance and get a return authorization number, and send it back.

Re: Lowrance help

Common problem with all electronic malfunctions like yours is a simple ground failure. It doesn't take much to have a ground or power failure due to corrosion or broken wire. Take the time to go under the dash and reconnect the ground and power supply and you will be surprised how often that is the simple fix. Hopefully that is it and not a bad board on your electronics. Also check the fuse first, both the inline fuse and the fuse from your boat manufacturer if applicable.
Good luck....

Lowrance help

Went to the lake today and tried to power up my X-26 and it would not turn on. Last week out worked fine and did not remove it from the boat knowing I was going out today. Any Ideas? Everything else worked including my fish finder up front just my main one hooked up to the GPS. I would have checked it out better except it was pouring rain and didnt feel like messing with it. Now its dark and the boat is wet. Waa could effect my decision to go to the slugfest Sat unless I can get it turned on
