I leave everything alone except the Contrast setting on the Structure Scan menu. The default setting for the Contrast is 76. Change this to 55 and the objects on the bottom will show up better.

The LSS-2 HD does show objects much further away from the boat very clearly and is an upgrade from the LSS-1. Although the LSS-2 transducer is longer and doesn't fit well with a puck ducer for your broadband sonar on a trolling motor. I still have the LSS-1 on my trolling motor and the LSS-2 HD off the transom.

Ken can you give me the best settings for the hds and side scan that you use to see clearly . Thanks
