Kudos to Mrs Cornish. Sounds like she handled that like a trooper.

Caught a 135 pounder today

My buddy and I were working extending rod handles on a Bassmaster bionic blade and a Team Daiwa rod today. The Spot Remover jig was pulled tight to the end of the rode tip.

As my wife went by, she said, "Watch out with that rod, I'm walking by." I didn't quite hear her and turned to see her. As I did the rod whipped over her arm. See that I pulled it back toward me quick and set the hook on her wrist. She screamed.

My buddy ran over to help her and I tried to give her some slack in case she wanted to run with it. However, the line was so tight I had trouble flipping the bail. I finally did and asked, "Is the barb in? That's funny because her name is Barb. Okay, that's not funny.

She screamed, "YES!" I said, "Cut the line Mike!"

She said, " it, I'm taking it out." With that, she gabbed the jig and jerked as hard as she could and pulled it out. Cursing me like a sailor she went into the house. I stayed outside.

After my buddy left I went inside and she was quiet. I asked, "Did you wash it good?"

She said, "Yes."

I said, "I'm really sorry."

She said, "No problem, its just scary, seeing a fishhook in your arm."

Tough gal.
