Re: jig fishing with braided line...

Thanks for all the info fella's.. I mostly fish open water so it sounds like I may have to give floro a try..

So besides being less visable is floro that much more sensitive than mono? Enough to really feel a difference?

Sugoi... all day urrrday. Since i have the great priviledge of fishing these highly pressured so cal lakes . I have gone through all types of flouros and found that Sugoi is the best for me. Hands down. It flat out gets bit better and is very very strong. You hang up 6lb sometimes and you find yourself saying that's some strong for 6lb.

Re: jig fishing with braided line...

Open water fishing and clear I stay away from braid even with a leader Flouro gives me that increase in sensativety that I'm looking for with out the worry of rocks nicking it like braid. Jigs, Braid, Grass/tullies and stained water go togeather.

Re: jig fishing with braided line...

Do not use braid around wood/timber. Braid cuts(saws) into branches and you you will break off or come unbuttoned guaranteed. Learned the hard way. Fluorocarbon will not saw into wood, it slides over branches and your chances of landing big fish are way better. D.B.COOPER

Re: jig fishing with braided line...

Water color and clarity determine what kind of line Ill flip or pitch a jig on. Mono is almost a thing of the past for me.If I can use it Ill use floro in clear to slightly stained water.Braided line in cover or dirty muddy water. There is a difference in the vibration and bounce of a jig with all these lines. The sound of that jig hitting rocks is different with all three. I have dragged jigs on rocks and found they ll respond to one better than another.
