Re: Lake Sonoma - 03/14/2010

I was out sun as well with a couple buddies in our kickboats. I had 8 bites resulting in 6 fish for about 13-14 lbs. One early on a pointer, then broke one off on a jig, not a great fish, just hadnt retied from the last trip . next 2 took a while and were caught on jigs in about 8 ft. Another in the back of brush creek on a blade, then on my way out got hit on an Osprey but didnt hook up. Got 2 more pitchin to shallow brush in Yorty, one jig, one senko and then had to leave before they closed the gate. One of my friends caught 16 fish 2 blade and the rest drop shot...11 lbs if he was lucky he said, the other caught 2 all day both on the drop shot.

On our way back through Yorty we spotted this TOAD (8+ without a doubt) about 1.5' under the surface just sittin there, over 60' of water with not a tree nearby that we could tell. We watched for about a min and then she just lowered down into the depths. It was definetly a bass, what the heck was she doin?

Heh.

I find myself wondering why the **** I bother fishing with anything else other than the jig?

Just throw all the other crap away except for my jigs.

Jig, jig, jig.

Lake Sonoma - 03/14/2010

I had 9 bites and caught 6 fish, best 5 went just over 13lbs. I fished the main lake and up into Yorty Creek. The majority of my fish were caught in deeper water 10'-20'. All fish were caught on a jig and a medium depth craw colored crankbait. Water temps ranged from 52-57 degrees. Was absolutely gorgeous out there. Be advised there is still a lot of debris in the water stay alert while running the main lake.
