you and I are about the same....lots a SMALL fish to 4lbs and nothing really bigger. To this day I've got only a handful over 5lbs and my best this year was in February and she went 8.5lbs on a Senko.
Who knows...all we can do is catch fish and have fun with it!

Casitas 4/2 one Brazillian.......
I lost count of how many I caught in the first 20 minutes Friday. A brazillian? ...I was out all day and have no idea how many fish I caught. I stopped using expensive baits and started using the stuff laying around in lockers and worms from 30 years ago...Color pretty much didn't matter. Early bite was on senko's but that petered out when the sun began to really beat down around 9:00. I switched up to dropshot and kept on reel'n em in. At 3:00 I pulled out my big swimbaits and where I have had no success this year I continued to not have any success ...However the prospects have definitely gotten better as I had at least 20 fish come up on them...So I guess I gotta work on presentation as they were really think'n about it but none would commit. No fish much over 4 pounds and the norm was about 1 1/2 or 2 pounds....water was super clear with 15 foot viz in places until the wind fixed that little problem which of course improved the bite. Water temps as high as 65. I am in agreement with Eric on his points about the big fish.....Unless every big fish is in Ayers creek or across some bouyed off area Casitas has not shown me any really large fish in the population. With the extremely clear water I did not see one fish on a bed that approached the historical size we are accustom to. I have seen a few that might have gone ten pounds or so but my best for the year is about 8 1/2 and that was back in January. I will keep plugg'n along as the numbers makes the fishing fun and who knows when the next tap tap will be one of this years toads. It could be worse.It could be Cachuma
