Using a LSS-1 transducer on the trolling motor is more common than many realize. I helped Scap at Transducer Shield and Saver develop a combination 2D and LSS-1 transducer bracket for mounting on the trolling motor (can also be mounted on a step or jackplate). It even works with a Minnkota Universal Sonar model.

Having StructureScan and DownScan on your trolling motor allows you precise information, the ability to scan and move the boat in the direction of the fish, structure, or cover, and allows you to spot schools of bait or fish to the sides that you would normally never see.

Yep, got a Minn Kota 101. It's a pretty long electric motor but still is pretty full. I used regular hose clamps not the bracket that Lowrance sells. I just haven't got one yet to try, soon.

So Ken....I have trolling motor envy....Cuz Now that I have another transducer and the bracket I find that my Motorguide82 tourguide ain't going to accomadate both the structure scan and the trans ducer for the unit....you must have 101 pounds of thrust or something to fit that array on there.... ....I'll get'm both on there I'll just have to stare at it a while until I figure out how I'm going to get them to cohabitate the trolling motor space.

Yours didn't come with a manual?

Enable "Screen Capture" and then you just press the "Light/Power" button to save whatever is on your screen. They get saved to your meters hard-drive and you can copy them to a mmc card later on. Use a card reader to transfer the image(s) to your PC, host the pics on photobucket and Bob's your uncle

Check out this link. Lowrance has a mount to attach the LSS-1 to the trolling motor, curved bottom for a flush mount.

I have an HDS 8 up front, couldn't go $600.00 more for a 10! You will need two black boxes since a module can only run one transducer. In my opinion get the LSS-1 for the front and get the largest HDS you can afford. If it's only a 7 that's where to compromise and later upgrade to a bigger screen unit. The Structure Scan on the front is more important information for me while I'm fishing than the size of the screen.

I don't know many people who put them on their trolling motor yet, but that's OK to me since it gives me an competitive advantage although it hasn't paid of yet, but it will.

Re: Lowrance images

I wondered if you needed 2 boxes to do it. It figures there's 1 input and 3 outputs on the thing, next year the box will have two "in's".

I'll take a cover for a motorguide and tell that machinist I need some molds modified also, easy mill work
